Richard Ramirez (The Night Stalker)

I chose this topic because I want to see what goes on in a serial killer’s mind and I want to do lots of research on how and why they would turn out like this. Richard Ramirez was the youngest of 7 children and got into satanic worship at a young age by his cousin who was a war veteran. Mike was the name of the cousin who was a war veteran, he would tell Richard how he would inflict pain on the women of vietnam and would even show the young child horrifying images of it. Mike and Richard would go out together and smoke marijuana, that started Richard to rebel and become distant from his parents. One day Richard saw Mike murder his wife and that is how a killer ended up being born. He moved around a lot from places like San Fransisco to Los Angeles, he would go around stealing cars and other things but that soon lead to the killing of actual women. His first victim was a 79 year old lady and she was sexually assaulted robbed and stabbed in her own home. His next victim was Maria Hernandez who ended up escaping so he killed her roommate and another woman. After about 25 victims he was finally caught. He was an idol for people who were into the cult life. After he was caught he was linked to the death and murder of a 9 year old in San Francisco. He showed no signs of remorse in the courtroom. When convicted to life in prison all he said was, “ No big deal. Death comes with a territory. I’ll see you in Disneyland.”
